Many people are unhappy with the changes in the look and feel of their skin that occur as a result of aging. Fractora fractional ablation therapy is one way of restoring a youthful appearance without undergoing surgical procedures or using injectable fillers. This therapy stimulates new growth of collagen and skin that actually changes the makeup of your skin, providing long-lasting, natural results.
What is Fractora fractional ablation?
Fractora is an advanced fractional radio-frequency dermatological treatment. This treatment produces has a significant effect on wrinkles and other signs of age.
Ablation therapy is the word used to describe a minimally invasive procedure in which unwanted or abnormal tissue is destroyed. Ablation therapy has a number of different uses in both internal and external medicine, and there are a number of different methods used.
Fractional ablative treatment is a form of ablation treatment in which ablation therapy is achieved by use of a laser or radio-frequency beam. This beam “fractures” the unwanted skin cells, creating tiny injuries that prompt the skin’s natural healing process. This process stimulates the growth of new, young-looking skin as well as restructuring the underlying tissue for dramatic anti-aging effects.
How does Fractora fractional ablation work?
Fractora is part of the InMode platform, used at Aesthetic Medicine and Veins in Mississauga, Ontario. Fractora is the first bipolar radio-frequency fractional treatment. Fractora treatment divides the treatment area into a number of different thermal zones, using a number of tiny pins to deliver specialized radiofrequency ablation to each treatment area. Fractora focuses the ablation on the superficial level of the skin to rejuvenate it. Because Fractora fractional ablation does not rely on color or pigment, unlike some lasers, it can be safely and effectively used on all skin colors and types.
What are the benefits and advantages of this treatment?
The primary benefit to Fractora fractional ablation treatment is younger, healthier-looking skin. The skin may appear tighter, cellulite may be reduced and sagging skin and wrinkles will be less prominent. Fractora can also be used to treat and reduce the impact of unwanted scarring. What should I expect during my treatment?
First, you’ll discuss with a member of our team the results you’d like to achieve. They will apply a topical numbing cream to the area(s) to be treated in order to minimize any discomfort you may feel during the procedure.
We will apply the tip of the Fractora device directly to your skin. It should not be painful, but the area being treated will likely feel warm or hot as the radiofrequency energy enters your skin. You may experience greater sensation in certain areas of the face, such as the thin-skinned areas of your jawline and forehead. If you are uncomfortable, talk to your technician and they will adjust accordingly.
What results can I expect after treatment?
Ablative treatment works by causing micro-injuries to your skin, removing some skin in the process. This means that there is some necessary downtime. Immediately after the procedure, your skin will likely look red, shiny, and swollen. After your Fractora treatment session, we will discuss the protocol for caring for your post-treatment skin.
Several treatments may be necessary to achieve your desired look. As new the collagen is formed and develops, the anti-aging effects will be amplified. It may take a month or so for the results to begin to appear, but this is because Fractora treatment actually changes the makeup of your skin. These results are long-lasting and will last for several months. Once the initial course of treatment is finished, many may patients opt for less frequent maintenance treatments in order to keep their skin looking its best.
Who is a good candidate?
Fractora fractional ablation can be used on people of any skin tone, unlike some laser treatments, as the radiofrequency energy does not rely on pigmentation. If you have wrinkles, scars, redness, or loose skin, are in good health, and have reasonable expectations for the treatment, you are a good candidate for Fractora fractional ablation treatments.
